A Four-Hierarchy method for the design of organic Rankine cycle (ORC) power plants

• Proposed a novel progressive Four-Hierarchy method to design the ORC power plants. Effective integration of modelling, optimizing, scheme comparing and decision-making. Three-level fuzzy decision is developed for evaluating Pareto set point. All-around view given based on Taylor diagram get Pareto-optimal solution. Quantitative evaluation achieved schemes using method. In this paper, practical general-adapted optimization decision-making proposed thermal systems designed wide range energy field regarding organic Rankine cycle thermodynamic cycles. This composed four hierarchies including optimization, comparison To demonstrate method, performance basic trans -critical recuperative are analyzed compared. The NSGA-II algorithm adopted obtain optimal frontier. Four methods which Shannon Entropy, modified LINMAP, TOPSIS TLFDM applied points. Furthermore, final solution determined by root-mean-square difference, correlation coefficient standard deviation in diagram. results indicate that often appears at LINMAP contrast with ORC, can always improve system’s performance. But techno-economics only enhanced when grade heat source sufficient. most beneficial improvement average reduction transfer area per net output more than 27.0% 30.0% medium temperature high geothermal reservoirs, respectively. Based case study, presented has proved its application value, shown promising applicability cycles conversion.
